East Forest Park, Springfield, Massachusetts

East Forest Park is a neighborhood in the south central part of Springfield, Massachusetts, beginning about two miles from Metro Center. It is a medium sized neighborhood, containing 1,231 acres (498 ha) plus rights of way and water bodies. Principal boundaries are Watershops Pond to the north; the Town of East Longmeadow to the south; Schneelock Brook to the east; and the former Highland Division Rail Line to the west. The neighborhood borders East Longmeadow, Forest Park, and the Sixteen Acres neighborhood. [1]

East Forest Park contains a wide variety of pre and post-World War II homes on the hillside of Watershops Pond, Springfield's largest body of water (other than the Connecticut River) and custom-built colonials and tudors as well as capes and ranches. [2]

Several small commercial areas are located on Island Pond Road and Sumner Avenue. The neighborhood is home to Cathedral High School, the city's only Catholic secondary school.
